What is laser hair reduction?

Laser hair removal is a long-term non-surgical option of removing unwanted hair. Lasers strategically destroy pigmented hair at the follicle, leaving surrounding skin unharmed, and prevents future hair growth. Here at Hanami Medspa, we use the revolutionary Neo Elite 650 microsecond Nd:YAG 1064 laser for our hair reduction treatments.

Who can get laser hair reduction treatment?

In the past, only patients with fair or light skin with dark brown or black hair could receive laser hair reduction treatments. Now, with the help of the Neo Elite laser, we can treat patients of all skin tones. Patients dealing with unwanted hair often experience anxiety, depression, and reduced quality of life. In one study, 75% of women with unwanted facial hair reported clinical levels of anxiety. Finding a safe and effective hair removal solution can be frustrating, and are often painful, or only temporary. Now there’s a better way! What can I expect during the treatment?

Unlike most hair removal techniques that can be painful and often dangerous, the Neo Elite laser for hair reduction has little to no pain involved, and skin cooling or topical anesthetics are not required for the treatment. The treatment is a very quick process, with the maximum amount of time needed for the procedure being only 30 minutes.

How long do the effects last?

Most clients do require touch up treatments at some point, although when you need them is different for every patient. If you see a few hairs coming back, then it’s time! As we age and our hormones change, it can cause more hair follicles to form. Medication changes and pregnancy affect the longevity of your hair reduction as well, but again, this is different for everyone.
